At Vertimac, we specialise in the sale of aerial work platforms. With a long history in the industry, we have established ourselves as a trusted partner for rental companies and traders all around the world. The equipment we sell performs across a variety of industries, from construction and maintenance to logistics.
Operating from our headquarters in Waregem, Belgium, we offer a wide range of aerial work platforms, telehandlers and forklifts, available in our extensive on-site stock. Thanks to our own network of technical professionals, we ensure that all machines are delivered in full operational condition.
“We help achieve greatness(1) by giving access to access(2) through knowledge, fairness and insightful leadership(3).”
Internally, we strive to be a company where people feel safe, listened to, motivated, and valued. Beyond, personal service, direct communication, and flexibility remain at the heart of our approach. We strive to maintain a relationship of trust with our customers, regardless of distance.
As we reach new markets worldwide, we continue to uphold the core values of a family-owned business.
We take responsibility for everything we say and do.
We put our extensive industry knowledge to good use.
We adapt quickly to challenging situations.
Never afraid.
The groundwork for our company’s growth is laid in 1984. Our founder, Dirk Naessens, starts a one-man business in Deerlijk, Belgium. His first business is specialised in the repair and sale of industrial forklifts.
The company is renamed as ‘DK Heftrucks’. Under the new name, the first rental activity is carried out.
It is only four years after its establishment that the company ventures into the aerial work platform industry: a Genie Z30 is added to the fleet.
After almost a decade, Dirk Naessens founds a second company – ‘HD International’ – specialised in the direct import of Japanese forklifts.
The company is renamed to better reflect the nature of its activities. As the business grows, the headquarters are moved to a larger and upgraded facility in Waregem, Belgium.
The rental fleet keeps expanding, growing to 300 machines in 1998. An acquisition worth mentioning is that of the Grove AMZ131XT, the highest-reaching boom lift in Belgium at that time.
The turn of the millennium is marked by international expansion. DK Rental opens subsidiaries in Spain and France.
The year 2007 announces an important change, as DK Rental is acquired by Lavendon Group, the largest rental company in the European access industry. By then, DK Rental had become Belgium’s number one aerial platform rental company.
In 2011, a new chapter commences with the foundation of Vertimac. Dirk Naessens, with his sons Frédéric and Mathieu, and Karel Ghistelinck establish a business focused on the purchase and sale of secondhand access equipment. The years of industry expertise and combined strengths form the groundwork for the expanding family business we know today.
To address the changing market and customer needs more effectively, we sell our first spare part in 2012. The official establishment of the Spare Parts division follows in 2014.
Just years after its foundation, the company gains international recognition as a result of strategic global business development. Customers in Latin America, South-East-Asia and others get to know Vertimac. During this period of expansion, we reach annual sales of 3000 machines.
The exterior of the building and the landscaping are given a fresh new look to give our headquarters a more modern and inviting appearance.
Over the years, we adapt to the needs of the customers by shifting our focus. After a period of selling older secondhand equipment, we now concentrate on the sale of new and younger used machinery.
After more than ten years as an entity within Vertimac, it is time to give our expertise in spare parts a name of its own: Platform Parts.
This change means that Vertimac can once again focus on its core business: trading. With a modern look and approach, we renew our commitment to delivering reliable machinery and exceptional service worldwide.
Today, Vertimac sells machines in more than 80 countries worldwide. With the support of an expanding team, more than 2000 machines are sold annually. The focus is still entirely on our specialisation, aerial work platforms.
